At Wee Wonders,
we believe our mission is to encourage each child to see himself or herself
as a happy, caring, and worthwhile individual.
Wee
Wonders Nursery School provides time and materials for a child to learn
through observation and experimentation. Exploration of everyday events
stimulates the child to ask questions, think for themselves, and explore
new ideas. A child's understanding of their immediate world is expanded
through experiences which give meaning to concepts of size, shape, distance,
and time.
The child is encouraged
to express themselves creatively through art, dramatic play, song, and
dance. Literature is also an important part of the curriculum. The child
develops skill in using their body effectively in rhythmic response to
music and in coordinating fine motor skills to cut, draw, paint, and manipulate
small toys.
Indoor
and outdoor climbing and balancing equipment
are provided for development and coordination of gross motor skills.
The child is encouraged to develop habits of helping themselves,
finishing what they have started, and cleaning up after themselves.
Field trips are an important
part of our curriculum, as well as visits by a variety of professional
people in our community.
